In recent decades there has been considerable, well-deserved concern about scientific progress slowing down. Scientists may no longer be experiencing the golden age of discovery.
We are likely to see serious government investment in AI. U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III has publicly embraced the importance of partnering with innovative AI technology companies to maintain and strengthen global U.S. competitiveness.

With so many changes coming at such a rapid pace, here’s what shifts in AI could mean for various industries and society at large.
