What is Deep Learning?   Deep learning is the branch of  machine learning  which is based on artificial neural network architecture. An artificial neural network or ANN uses layers of interconnected nodes called neurons that work together to process and learn from the input data. In a fully connected Deep neural network, there is an input layer and one or more hidden layers connected one after the other. Each neuron receives input from the previous layer neurons or the input layer. The output of one neuron becomes the input to other neurons in the next layer of the network, and this process continues until the final layer produces the output of the network. The layers of the neural network transform the input data through a series of nonlinear transformations, allowing the network to learn complex representations of the input data. Today Deep learning has become one of the most popular and visible areas of machine learning, due to its success in a variety of applic...

Why AI Will Save the World

Image
Why AI Can Make Everything We Care About Better The most validated core conclusion of social science across many decades and thousands of studies is that  human  intelligence makes a very broad range of life outcomes better. Smarter people have better outcomes in almost every domain of activity: academic achievement, job performance, occupational status, income, creativity, physical health, longevity, learning new skills, managing complex tasks, leadership, entrepreneurial success, conflict resolution, reading comprehension, financial decision making, understanding others’ perspectives, creative arts, parenting outcomes, and life satisfaction. Further, human intelligence is the lever that we have used for millennia to create the world we live in today: science, technology, math, physics, chemistry, medicine, energy, construction, transportation, communication, art, music, culture, philosophy, ethics, morality. Without the application of intelligence on all these domains, we wo...

How the AI Revolution Will Reshape the World

Image
We are about to see the greatest redistribution of power in history. Over millennia, humanity has been shaped by successive waves of technology. The discovery of fire, the invention of the wheel, the harnessing of electricity—all were transformational moments for civilization. All were waves of technology that started small, with a few precarious experiments, but eventually they broke across the world. These waves followed a similar trajectory: breakthrough technologies were invented, delivered huge value, and so they proliferated, became more effective, cheaper, more widespread and were absorbed into the normal, ever-evolving fabric of human life We are now facing a new wave of technology, centered around  AI   but including synthetic biology,   quantum computing , and abundant new sources of energy. In many respects it will repeat this pattern. Yet it will also depart from it in crucial ways only now becoming clear. Amidst all the hype, the hope, the fear, I thin...

How Will Artificial Intelligence Affect Jobs 2024-2030

You would have been living under a rock if you did not know how artificial intelligence is set to affect jobs in 2024-2030. AI like ChatGPT seems to be stealing all of the headlines at the moment, Google unveiled new AI software to build presentations, analyze and enter data, and write content, and there are so many more AI tools like Gamma and Numerous AI. Those that are resisting, rather than riding the crest of the wave will not be making hey whilst the sun shines when it comes to landing in-demand jobs in the next 6 years and enjoying job growth. AI will be taking some jobs, but it will be creating new ones!  How will AI affect jobs and the economy? McKinsey global institute says that at the global average level of adoption and absorption and advances in ai implied by their simulation, AI has the profound impact to deliver additional global economic activity of around $13 trillion in the foreseeable future and by 2030, or about 16% higher cumulative GDP compared with tod...

AI AND CREATIVITY

Image
AI AND CREATIVITY .. AI and creativity are fascinating topics that intersect in many ways. Traditionally, creativity was thought to be a uniquely human trait, involving the ability to generate novel ideas, solutions, or artifacts that have value. However, advances in artificial intelligence have challenged this notion by demonstrating that machines can also exhibit creative behavior. AI systems can engage in various creative tasks, including: Artistic Creation: AI algorithms can generate visual art, music, literature, and even poetry. For example, deep learning algorithms can analyze vast amounts of existing artwork and then generate new pieces in similar styles. Some AI-generated artworks have even been sold at auctions for substantial sums of money. Innovation and Design: AI can aid in the design process by generating novel designs or optimizing existing ones. This can be seen in fields like architecture, where AI algorithms can create designs that are both aesthetically plea...

WHAT IS MACHINE LEARNING

Image
Machine learning definition  Machine learning is a subfield of  artificial intelligence (AI)  that uses algorithms trained on data sets to create self-learning models that are capable of predicting outcomes and classifying information without human intervention. Machine learning is used today for a wide range of commercial purposes, including suggesting products to consumers based on their past purchases, predicting stock market fluctuations, and translating text from one language to another.  In common usage, the terms “machine learning” and “artificial intelligence” are often used interchangeably with one another due to the prevalence of machine learning for AI purposes in the world today. But, the two terms are meaningfully distinct. While  AI  refers to the general attempt to create machines capable of human-like cognitive abilities, machine learning specifically refers to the use of algorithms and data sets to do so. Examples and use cases Machine lear...

WHY IS ARTIFICIAL INTELLINENCE IMPORTANT

Image
What is the importance of AI in our daily lives? Many of us benefit from AI in our daily lives without even realising it. With a streaming service like Netflix or Amazon Prime, the recommendations you receive for shows you might enjoy are produced by an AI system which uses data on your viewing habits to decide on what series you might like to see next. A voice recognition service in digital assistants, such as in the case of Amazon’s Alexa, will receive data from its user in the form of spoken language and will translate that data into a text file using an algorithm in order to decide what the user needs it to do. AI in social media helps curate the content in your feeds to be more relevant to you while Google utilising artificial intelligence can sort through millions of search results to find the one that you’re looking for. On a more complex scale, self-driving cars use a complex network of AI systems to make real-time decisions as they drive to keep the ‘driver’ and passenge...

What Is Artificial Intelligence

Image
Learn what artificial intelligence actually is, how it’s used today, and what it may do in the future. What Is Artificial Intelligence Artificial intelligence (AI)  is the theory and development of computer systems capable of performing tasks that historically required human intelligence, such as recognizing speech, making decisions, and identifying patterns. AI is an umbrella term that encompasses a wide variety of technologies, including  machine learning ,  deep learning , and  natural language processing (NLP) .  Although the term is commonly used to describe a range of different technologies in use today, many disagree on whether these actually constitute artificial intelligence. Instead, some argue that much of the technology used in the real world today actually constitutes highly advanced machine learning that is simply a first step towards true artificial intelligence, or “general artificial intelligence” (GAI). Yet, despite the many philosophical disag...
